It’s a black and white question:
Are you living the life that God is calling you to live?
Yes or no? Yes means that you are pursuing God’s clear plan for your life no matter the cost, the sacrifice, the pain. You’re pursuing Him for the future glory of His ultimate plan.
No is a different story.
No means that there is a cost that you have determined to be too great. No means that there is a sacrifice that is too significant. No means there is a pain that is too much to bear. But here’s the funny thing, if you’re not living the life God called you to live, you likely are just assuming the costs, assuming the sacrifices, assuming the pain. If God’s calling you to give more, maybe you’re assuming you can’t live without cable; if He’s prompting you to go to church, maybe you’re assuming you can’t survive without an extra hour of sleep; if He’s convincing you to work less, maybe you’re assuming more time at work is actually better for your marriage.
So maybe you’re the No guy. Maybe your life is something you’ve been wrestling with. Maybe Why? is something that has you gripped with complacency. Maybe “There-has-to-be-more-to-life-than-this” is a regular thought.
But think about this…
Maybe God does actually have something better for your life. Maybe there actually is more to life than a house and a job and a future retirement. Maybe, when Jesus said that thieves come to steal and kill and destroy, He meant it. And maybe, when Jesus finished the statement by saying that He came to give us life, life to the full, He actually meant that too.

What would God have to do to make you change your life? (It’s a big question.)
Are you willing to ask Him to do whatever it takes to shape your future the way He wants it? (It’s a big step.)
