About

Prodigal Magazine is an online publication committed to talking about faith, life and culture  in a real way without  ignoring the truth of Jesus. We’re a user-driven publication, which really just means we’re a community of people — readers and writers — who share stories, information and ideas with each other on a daily basis.

We believe in the power and importance of telling and hearing stories. Stories are how we connect to each other and how we understand Truth. Stories are the way we find meaning and healing in difficult circumstances. Stories help us to laugh at ourselves and see God’s faithfulness.

We want to hear your story. We want to help you tell it. We want to tell you ours. We can’t do it without your help.

Speaking of stories, we bet you’re wondering about the story of Prodigal. We’re glad you asked. We love to tell it because we think it’s a pretty good one!

The Story of Prodigal

Prodigal was founded in 2005 by Jason Wenell who had a vision for an online publication where men of integrity could come to encounter Truth, just as it is, naked, raw and real.

In January 2012 the site was adopted by Darrell and Allison Vesterfelt so that the vision could continue, not just to men, but to “sons and daughters” everywhere.

Want to get involved in our community?

We can’t blame you. It’s a pretty good community, if we do say so ourselves. There are several ways that you can jump right in.
